Chhattisgarh just announced it will withdraw criminal cases against Maoists who surrender and show good behavior, as part of its new 2025 rehabilitation policy.
The move is meant to encourage more surrenders and help former rebels reintegrate if they support anti-Maoist efforts.

Cases will be reviewed at the district level, checked by police headquarters, and need a final nod from a Cabinet sub-committee; if central laws are involved, the Union government has to agree too.
