Cyclone Ditwah brings heavy rain to Andhra and Tamil Nadu

India

Cyclone Ditwah is moving along the Bay of Bengal and is set to reach the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast by early Sunday.
While it's weakened into a deep depression, it's still causing heavy rain, strong winds up to 55km/h, and rough seas in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and northern Tamil Nadu.

Why does this matter?

The cyclone has already led to major rainfall—Nellore district saw nearly 89mm—and sadly, three people have died in Tamil Nadu due to rain-related incidents.
Over 57,000 hectares of crops are damaged and many cattle lost.
Authorities have set up relief camps, sent out disaster response teams, and are urging fishermen to stay ashore until December 2 for safety.
If you're in these areas or know someone who is, stay updated and take care!
