UPI transaction-value jumps 14% YoY to ₹24.6L crore in November

India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has witnessed a massive growth in November, with over 19 billion transactions worth ₹24.58 lakh crore till November 28. The data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) shows a significant jump from last year's figures for the same month. In November 2024, UPI had recorded only 15.48 billion transactions worth ₹21.55 lakh crore.

UPI transaction volume and value see significant growth
The latest NPCI data reveals that the transaction volume of UPI in November 2025 increased by some 23% compared to November 2024. The transaction value also saw a nearly 14% rise during this period. The growth is even more pronounced when we look at the numbers from November 2023. In two years, UPI transactions have grown by nearly 70% in terms of volume and over 41% in terms of value.

The NPCI data also highlights a steady increase over the last five years. In November 2021, UPI recorded just 4.18 billion transactions worth ₹7.68 lakh crore. By November 2022, these numbers had nearly doubled. The trend shows a consistent rise since then, emphasizing India's rapid transition from cash to digital payments and establishing UPI as the backbone of India's digital payment ecosystem.

Performance in the current financial year
For the fiscal year 2025-26, UPI has processed 12.41 billion transactions so far. The average daily volume stands at 689.60 million with an average daily value of ₹91,324.77 crore. In comparison to the same period in FY 2024-25, the average daily volume was lower at 516.07 million and its corresponding value was also lower at ₹71,839.58 crore.
