Cyclone Ditwah's leftovers drench Chennai and nearby districts
India
Cyclone Ditwah may have weakened, but its deep depression is still bringing heavy rain to Chennai, Tiruvallur, and surrounding areas.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai says this wet spell will likely stick around until the morning of December 2, with the system hovering close—just 50km east of Chennai and moving north along the coast.
Why should you care?
The downpour has already caused waterlogging in parts of Chennai, slowing traffic and leading to early school closures.
More rain is expected in Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and Ranipet too.
If you're in these areas, expect possible travel delays or flooding—so plan ahead and stay safe!
