This incident comes in the wake of a string of recent railway accidents across India. Just two weeks ago, 11 people lost their lives when a goods train collided with a MEMU local train near Bilaspur station in Chhattisgarh. Earlier this month, a separate accident at Chunar railway station in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district had also claimed the lives of six people.
