Delhi authorities rescue 28 trafficked children aged 12 to 17
Authorities in Delhi just rescued 28 children, ages 12 to 17, who were trafficked from places like Myanmar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
These children were found working long hours in really tough conditions after a tipoff from the NGO Prayas about child exploitation.
Joint Delhi raids find child labor
The operation was a team effort by Prayas, Sahyog Care For You, the labor department, and SDM Adarsh Nagar.
Raids at 12 locations (including Azadpur and Model Town) found children doing risky work with chemicals; two boys from Myanmar were even forced to work at a sweet shop after fake IDs were made for them.
Police said they were in the process of lodging an FIR against those responsible, and all rescued children were sent for medical examination before being placed under the Child Welfare Committee's care and in children's homes.
