Delhi budget 2026-27 likely to focus on education, infrastructure
Delhi is gearing up to present its 2026-27 budget on March 17 or 18, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is putting school education and infrastructure at the top of the list.
Expect more modern classrooms, revamped government schools, better roads, upgraded sewer lines, and a cleaner Yamuna.
There are also plans for greener energy, improved transport, pollution control, and new programs for women and children.
Why you should care
If you live in Delhi or just want to see your city get smarter (and cleaner), this budget could bring real changes: think better learning spaces, smoother commutes, and fresher air.
Departments pitched their ideas back in January; Gupta later emphasized the need for stronger infrastructure in a February interview.
Last year's budget saw big jumps in spending on education, healthcare, women's schemes, and transport—so there's hope that this year will keep the momentum going.
