Delhi court sends 3 protestors to police custody
India
Three people—Ravjot, Gurkirat, and Kranti—were sent to three days of police custody after a protest near India Gate.
Police are investigating their possible links to a banned group and its funding.
The court also said only female officers should question the women accused, following concerns raised by the defense.
What's behind the investigation?
Police originally wanted 10 days to dig deeper into all four accused's involvement in a Radical Students Union event in Hyderabad and trace any organizational connections.
The judge settled on three days instead.
Meanwhile, Ravjot and Gurkirat's roles during the protest—especially with slogans raised—are under close review, while eight other suspects have already been sent to judicial custody.
