Delhi-Dehradun Expressway set to launch in February 2026
Big news for travelers: the 210km Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to open by January 2026, according to project timelines and updates from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has stated the revised scheduled date of completion is January 2026.
Built by NHAI with a budget of nearly ₹12,000 crore, this new route will shrink the drive from Delhi to Dehradun from over 6 hours to just about 2-2.5 hours at a smooth 100km/h.
Why should you care?
This expressway isn't just about saving time—it's designed to ease traffic jams around Delhi and make road trips way less stressful.
The route starts at Akshardham and passes through several cities before ending in Dehradun.
Cool bonus: it features a special wildlife corridor near Rajaji National Park and a Haridwar spur connecting to Uttarakhand's popular tourist spots.
A stretch is already open for trial runs, though some finishing touches are still underway.
If you love road trips or quick getaways, this could be a game changer!
