Delhi-Dehradun Expressway trial run completes successfully

India

The Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway just had its first successful trial run on December 1, 2025.
This new road is set to slash the Delhi-to-Dehradun trip from over six hours to just about two and a half—making weekend getaways or quick trips way more doable.
The 210km route starts at Akshardham in Delhi and passes through Baghpat, Shamli, and Saharanpur before reaching Dehradun.

Other details

Built for ₹11,868.6 crore, the expressway faced some delays due to a tricky power line issue near Saharanpur but got back on track after a planned shutdown.
Once it's fully open, expect smoother connectivity between cities, less travel fatigue, and real savings on fuel—definitely a win for anyone who loves hitting the road or needs to commute between these places.
