Delhi enforces fuel sale ban to old vehicles
Starting July 1, 2025, Delhi will ban petrol for cars over 15 years old and diesel for those over 10 years, all to help fight air pollution.
About 350 petrol stations will get smart cameras that can instantly spot these older vehicles trying to refuel.
TL;DR
How the enforcement will work
Enforcement kicks off at 6am with transport officials and police on duty.
AI-powered cameras and hooters at pumps will flag non-compliant cars, alerting staff to impound them right away.
Petrol station attendants are also being asked to report any rule-breakers—everyone's pitching in to keep Delhi's air cleaner.
