Delhi's Food Safety Department just destroyed around 508kg of suspected spurious paneer at Okhla Sabzi Mandi, intensifying enforcement and inspection activities as the city gears up for Raksha Bandhan.

Delhi sends 22 samples to labs
In the past two days, 22 food samples from different parts of Delhi have been sent for lab testing.
Legal action has already started under food safety laws, and more steps will follow once results come in.
Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said food safety remains a priority for the government, especially during the festive season when demand for milk products, paneer, sweets, edible oils, and other food items rises sharply.
