Delhi hospitals will now hand you a birth certificate before you go home

Big update for new parents in Delhi: the MCD will now give out birth certificates right at the hospital, ensuring families have their paperwork sorted before leaving.
The goal is to make sure every baby born in a hospital or clinic (which is almost all of them—over 96% last year!) leaves with their official document sorted.

Digital perks make things even easier

Birth certificates are now linked to DigiLocker, so you can access them anytime on your phone.
Plus, Aadhaar numbers for newborns are generated automatically, and staff help parents with any next steps.
The MCD has also digitized cremation slips at 25 crematoria, making death certificate processing smoother too.
