Delhi: Mall liquor store caught selling fake premium alcohol
Delhi excise officials busted a fake liquor operation at a DSIIDC-run store in Narela mall, finding four employees inside during the raid.
The group allegedly bought empty premium liquor bottles from scrap dealers, refilled them with cheap alcohol or water, and used fake barcodes to pass them off as genuine—essentially turning trash into "premium" booze for unsuspecting buyers.
Outlet sealed, forensic tests on seized bottles underway
During the raid, police seized over 100 empty high-end bottles, 39 filled ones, refilling gadgets, and even a Swift Dzire allegedly used in the operation.
Brands like Glenlivet, Johnnie Walker Gold Label, Chivas Regal, Hendrick's Gin, and Godawan were targeted.
The outlet is now sealed and all seized bottles are headed for forensic tests to confirm what was really inside.
Authorities say more action is coming as the investigation continues.
