Delhi-NCR: Heavy fog, rain in parts; air quality very poor
India
Delhi-NCR started Wednesday under a heavy layer of fog, with air quality plunging to a very poor AQI of 312.
Key pollution hotspots like Anand Vihar, Mundka, and Chandani Chowk saw 'very poor' readings, while PM2.5 and PM10 levels were reported to be elevated.
IMD issues yellow alert
The toxic air has made it tough to see on the roads. Breathing this air is risky—especially for kids, older folks, or anyone with heart or lung issues.
The IMD issued a yellow alert warning of isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, and reports said rainfall signaled the start of an active weather phase.
