The idea is to tap into the skills and discipline gained during their four-year military stint under the Agnipath scheme.
Departments told to update hiring rules
This reservation was first just for Delhi Police, but now covers several government departments.
All departments have been told to update their hiring rules by June 30, so ex-Agniveers can smoothly apply.
Similar policies already exist in national security forces like Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles, making it easier for Ex-Agniveers to build civilian careers after serving.
