Delhi Police busts Pakistan-backed terror module, arrests 3
Delhi Police's Special Cell has busted a terror module allegedly run by gangster Shahzad Bhatti, a Pakistani national operating at the behest of Pakistan's intelligence agency.
The group was involved in arms and drug smuggling, and planning attacks from abroad.
Three men—Hargunpreet Singh from Punjab, Vikas Prajapati from Madhya Pradesh, and Arif from Uttar Pradesh—were arrested for their role in recent grenade attacks.
International links and more planned attacks
Bhatti has openly claimed responsibility for recent grenade attacks on a social media influencer's home and a BJP leader's residence in Jalandhar.
The arrested suspects had been scouting other locations for similar strikes.
Investigators have found connections to Canada-based Bishnoi gang members and Khalistani operatives, all working together through social media to plan violent acts in Punjab.
Police have seized an e-rickshaw used in one of the blasts and are still tracking down more people involved with help from Punjab Police.
