Delhi sees decline in dengue cases; 4 deaths reported
India
Good news for Delhi—dengue cases have dropped sharply in 2025, with just four deaths and 1,469 cases reported so far.
Malaria and chikungunya numbers are also down, at 737 and 177 cases respectively.
How did this happen?
The city's aggressive mosquito-control drive has been significant. Officials checked over 3.77 crore homes, sprayed insecticides in more than 32.5 lakh houses, and even used larvae-eating fish at hundreds of spots.
Over 1.5 lakh legal notices were sent for mosquito breeding violations, leading to thousands of prosecutions.
Notably, there were no malaria-related deaths this year.
