Delhi set to introduce hot air balloon rides
Ready for a new view of the city?
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is bringing hot air balloon rides to the Yamuna and Commonwealth Games Village sports complexes. It's all about giving tourism a boost (and making things a bit more fun).
Private operators will run the show on dedicated sites, each approximately 60 meters by 60 meters.
TL;DR
Operators can put ads on balloons
In phase one, there'll be four balloon spots at each complex.
Operators get three-year licenses (which can stretch to nine), and they can even put ads on the balloons.
Flights are limited to four hours daily, unless DDA says otherwise.
Ticket prices will be set by operators but have to stay reasonable, so you might just get an affordable sky-high experience near Akshardham soon!
