Delhi's air stays "severe;" schools go hybrid as pollution peaks
Delhi's air quality is at crisis levels again, with the AQI hitting 457 on Monday—just after Sunday became the most polluted day of this winter.
Some areas, like Wazirpur, even maxed out at an AQI of 500.
The city is blanketed in thick haze, making it tough to see and even tougher to breathe.
What's being done—and what's next
To fight back, Delhi-NCR has rolled out Stage Four of its pollution response plan: all construction work is paused, non-essential diesel trucks are off the roads, and only cleaner-fuel heavy vehicles are allowed in.
Schools have switched to hybrid classes so students can log in from home if needed.
According to the Air Quality and Weather Bulletin for Delhi (Safar), the bad air could stick around until at least December 17, so everyone's hoping for a change soon.
