Delhi's air turns "very poor," fog to stick around this week

India

Delhi woke up to some seriously bad air—AQI hit 358 on Thursday, landing in the "very poor" zone.
Thick fog has made things worse, with visibility dropping below 800 meters in parts of the city.
The weather department says this pattern will likely continue, with yellow alerts out for more fog on December 21 and 22.

Why does it matter?

Poor air and heavy fog aren't just a hassle—they're causing real problems. Flights were delayed or canceled for hundreds of people on Monday alone.
Most of the pollution is coming from nearby Haryana, car traffic, and local industries.
The government says it's rolling out new rules—like demolition bans and stricter traffic controls—to try to clear things up.
