ED arrests Karumuri Sunil Kumar ₹195.33Cr Andhra Pradesh liquor scam
Big news from Andhra Pradesh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) just arrested Karumuri Sunil Kumar, son of former Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao, over a liquor transport scam.
The case centers on shady contracts handed out by the state's beverages corporation, which allegedly cost the government a whopping ₹195.33 crore.
ED says tenders were rigged to favor certain companies.
Raids seize watches ₹94.5L others arrested
Karumuri Sunil Kumar's arrest followed ED raids on June 11 at properties linked to him and his father.
Officials found a luxury car, cash, and fancy watches worth nearly ₹94.5 lakh, plus documents about money and property deals.
Others tied to the case, including former APSBCL managing director D. Vasudeva Reddy, have also been arrested recently as the investigation continues.
