ED searches Bengaluru home of IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar
Big news from Karnataka: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) just searched the Bengaluru home of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, who supervised recent veterinary recruitment exams.
This is all part of a money laundering investigation into alleged corruption and cheating in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) hiring process.
Gangwar had briefly gone missing earlier this week, but later told officials he was away for a family emergency.
ED raids amid ₹80L claims
The ED is digging into claims that candidates were asked to pay huge bribes (up to ₹80 lakh) to secure jobs, with reports of leaked papers and tampered answer sheets.
Raids have also hit KPSC offices, the residence of suspended KPSC Chairman Shivashankarappa S Sahukar and KPSC Member Shanta Hosmani, and even the company that handled exam evaluations.
The investigation is ongoing, so expect more updates soon.
