Election Commission deploying nearly 2.4L CAPF in West Bengal

For the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, the Election Commission is sending in nearly 2.4 lakh Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel, the largest deployment ever in a single state.
This move comes after recent safety concerns and aims to keep things peaceful during voting.
ECI keeps 200 CAPF guarding EVMs
Along with the huge security presence, about 200 CAPF companies will stay back after polls to guard EVMs and sensitive spots, while another 500 companies focus on law and order.
The ECI has also replaced top state officials like the Chief Secretary and DGP to help ensure fair elections.
