Fort Kochi: Tourists fall into water after platform collapse
India
Five foreign tourists from various European countries ended up in the water at Fort Kochi on Friday when a wooden platform supporting the famous Chinese fishing nets suddenly gave way.
The group was checking out this popular spot around 11am when one of the planks broke, causing five of them to fall into the water.
Locals step in fast, only minor injuries
Fishermen and traders nearby acted quickly, pulling everyone to safety within minutes.
Three tourists got away with just minor bruises and were treated before heading back to their hotel.
Police and tourism officials are now looking into what caused the collapse to make sure it doesn't happen again.
