FSSAI busts adulterated ghee operation in Delhi and Haryana
FSSAI just busted a major fake ghee operation, grabbing over 6,500-liter of suspected adulterated products and associated raw materials in Delhi and Haryana.
The crackdown started after they spotted ads for ghee without proper licenses or labels.
Using a decoy purchase and lab tests, they found vegetable oils mixed in, definitely not what real ghee should be.
FSSAI files complaint, FIR registered
Big seizures followed: 1,500-liter of fake ghee and approximately 1,020-liter of unidentified oil were taken from a Delhi facility linked to Parit Ram.
In Haryana's Sonipat area, more than 4,000-liter were seized from Bala Ji Food Products.
FSSAI said a formal complaint has been filed with local police authorities and an FIR has been registered against those involved, and is still investigating the network.
They're also reminding everyone to check product labels and avoid anything that seems suspiciously cheap.
Food safety really matters.
