    GATE 2019 results announced: Here's how you can check yours

    A few minutes back, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras released the results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2019). The results of all 24 papers have been declared. They are available on the official website, http://gate.iitm.ac.in/. The shortlisted candidates will undergo counselling, which will tentatively commence in April. IIT-M conducted the exam this year. Here's how you can check yours.

    What is GATE?

    Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a compulsory exam for admissions in Masters and Doctoral courses in engineering, technology and architecture, and for government jobs. Many PSUs like, NTPC and ONGC, also ask for GATE score. GATE is jointly conducted by IISc and 7 IITs on behalf of National Co-ordination Board - GATE, MHRD. The score is valid for three years.

    GATE is conducted in 8 zones in India

    Every year one institute, helped by the others, conducts the exam in 8 zones in India and a few centers abroad. This was the fourth time that IIT-Madras conducted the exam. GATE 2018 was conducted by IIT-Guwahati, 2017 by IIT-Roorkee and 2016 by IISc-Bangalore.

    24 papers conducted in four days, answer key available

    The exam in 2019 for 24 papers was conducted on four days between February 2 and February 10 in forenoon and afternoon session per day. Each candidate is allowed to sit for only one paper or subject for the GATE exam. However, one paper can have multiple sessions. The candidates can check the answer key to the Computer Based Test-2019 at http://gate.iitm.ac.in/Anskey19.

    Here is how you can check your GATE result

    1- Go to the official website for GATE 2019 - gate.iitm.ac.in. 2- On the homepage, there will be a link to 'GATE 2019 Result.' Click on it. 3- The link will re-direct you to the log in page. 4- Enter the required details. 5- As you click, the result will be displayed. 6- Download to take a print out for further process.
