Ghaziabad 24-year-old Shidra dies by suicide after panchayat humiliation
A 24-year-old woman named Shidra died by suicide in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after being publicly humiliated at a local panchayat meeting.
The gathering was called because Mohammad Sameer had reportedly gone missing, and his family accused Shidra of kidnapping him, reportedly subjecting her to harsh verbal attacks.
Feeling overwhelmed and distressed, she ended her life at home.

Police tried to disperse the crowd, leading to some tension.
Investigators later found that Sameer had actually returned two days before Shidra's death after being questioned in an unrelated case.
Her family also claimed Sameer exploited Shidra with false promises of marriage.
The police are now probing what led up to this tragedy.
