Goa nightclub fire: Luthra brothers' passports suspended for speedy deportation

India

After a tragic fire at their Goa nightclub killed 25 people, owners Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra fled to Thailand.
Now, the Indian government has suspended their passports under The Passports Act, 1967—basically making them travelers without valid documents.
This move is designed to fast-track their deportation from Thailand and avoid a long legal process.

What happens next?

The passport suspension happened under Section 10-A of the Act, which kicks in when someone might try to escape justice.
With a non-bailable warrant out for them and permanent revocation on the table, the brothers will soon get an Emergency Certificate for a one-way trip back to India.
Once home, they'll face serious charges including culpable homicide and negligence related to the fire—showing that authorities are moving quickly to hold them accountable.
