Goa Police to extradite nightclub owners from Thailand

Goa Police and the CBI are heading to Thailand to bring back Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of a North Goa nightclub where a recent fire took 25 lives.
The brothers were caught in Thailand after trying to escape right after the tragedy.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed their extradition plans on Thursday.

What else happened?

The Luthra brothers reportedly booked flights to Phuket about 90 minutes after the fire broke out.
Another co-owner, Ajay Gupta, was arrested in Delhi; "I am a sleeping partner. I have no role in the operations," he says but is now in custody.
In response to the tragedy, Goa has started shutting down non-compliant venues and is investigating how licenses were granted, aiming for better safety at local hotspots.
