Gujarat man loses ₹2.52cr in WhatsApp stock scam

India

A 60-year-old from Valsad, Gujarat, lost ₹2.52 crore to a WhatsApp stock investment scam that started with a YouTube link in April last year.
After joining a group run by people claiming to be from the SEBI-registered Yashvi Company, he was encouraged to invest larger sums through an app that showed fake profits.

How the scam unfolded and what's happening now

The victim put in money—starting with ₹5 lakh and eventually reaching ₹2.52 crore—into the UK-IND Fast Trading app, which falsely promised huge returns (even showing ₹33 crore in supposed profit).
When he tried to withdraw his money, scammers demanded another ₹66 lakh as "brokerage" and then stopped responding.
Realizing something was wrong, he talked to his family and reported it to cybercrime authorities.
A formal complaint has been filed against those involved, and police are now investigating the app, transactions, and suspects behind this fraud.
