Heavy rains flood Jammu, abandoned house collapses but no injuries
Jammu was hit by heavy rains on Tuesday, leading to flooded streets and traffic jams in spots like Tallab Tillo and Canal Road.
Rainwater even got into homes and shops, making things tough for locals.
At Shaheedi Chowk, an old abandoned house collapsed early in the morning after the downpour, but thankfully, no one was hurt since the family had already moved out when they saw cracks.
Jammu residents seek building inspections
People in the area are now asking officials to check and fix risky old buildings before something worse happens.
Flooding also slowed down traffic on key highways, and a mudslide blocked the Jammu-Kishtwar route for a while.
Meanwhile, flash floods were reported in Doda district but did not cause any damage.
The weather department says more rain is likely this week and warns everyone to watch out for possible flash floods or landslides.
