Heavy rains in Agartala, Tripura led the Haora River to overflow, flooding low-lying neighborhoods and forcing several residents to evacuate overnight.
Rescue teams are using boats to help trapped residents, and basic supplies such as food and milk are ready for those affected.
Four relief shelters set up nearby
Authorities have set up four relief shelters nearby where families can stay safe until the water recedes.
Thankfully, there have been no major injuries or serious damage so far.
Officials will check for any further impact once things calm down, but for now rescue efforts continue as the river remains at danger level.
