Hundreds join Visakhapatnam's annual Kavad Yatra early Sunday morning
India
Visakhapatnam's annual Kavad Yatra brought together hundreds of devotees early Sunday morning, kicking off at Lord Shiva Temple in Madhavadhara and winding through the city before ending at Sri Jagannatha Swamy Temple in Siripuram.
People from places like Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, and Rajahmundry joined in, each carrying kavads, bamboo poles with pots of holy water, to offer at the temple.
Chants give Kavad Yatra spiritual energy
The whole route buzzed with chants of "Bol Bam" and "Har Har Mahadev", giving the event a vibrant, spiritual energy.
The Yatra is not just a religious tradition.
