IAF gets 20 Tejas Mk1A, GE promises engines by 2026
India
The Indian Air Force is about to boost its squadron with 20 Tejas Mk1A fighter jets from HAL while engine delays from General Electric continue to be a key issue.
GE will be penalized for the holdup but has now promised to deliver more engines by the end of 2026.
HAL secures ₹2.5L/cr order book
HAL has already rolled out 18 Tejas jets and two trainers, helping the IAF replace older aircraft.
The IAF is also expecting up to 13 new Sukhoi-30MKIs from HAL by year-end.
On top of that, HAL had a standout financial year, delivering helicopters, overhauling fighter jets, and racking up a massive ₹2.5 lakh crore order book for future projects.
