IMD issues cold wave alert for several states
India
Heads up: The IMD has put out a cold wave warning for parts of India this week, including Punjab, Haryana, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha, with specific dates varying by region between December 7 and 11.
It's a good idea to layer up if you're in these areas.
What to expect: chilly temps and foggy mornings
Adampur in Punjab just hit a chilly 2.2°C, with Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh also seeing lows below 5°C.
While Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi might get a slight temperature bump (1-2°C), central and eastern regions could see things cool down by up to 3°C.
Plus—dense fog is expected in Assam and Meghalaya through the week, which might make morning commutes tricky due to low visibility.
