IMD warns April 2 to 6 western disturbance bringing rain
Heads up! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says an active western disturbance will affect parts of India from April 2 to 6.
Expect rain and thunderstorms in the northwest, with gusty winds, and if you're in Uttar Pradesh, watch out for thunder squalls reaching up to 50-60km per hour, with gusts up to 70km per hour, on April 4 and 5.
Showers from northwest to east
Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are set for scattered to widespread showers between April 3 and 5. Rain will then move into Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh could see thunderstorms and lightning until April 6, with hail on April 3.
Over in the east, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and especially Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast, expect off-and-on rain through April 6.
So if you're heading out this week: maybe keep an umbrella handy!
