India receives 1st 2,000 NEGEV LMGs from Israel under Make-in-India
India has received its first batch of 2,000 NEGEV light machine guns from Israel as part of a much bigger deal for 41,000 units.
This delivery is happening under the Make in India push, with Israeli company IWI and Adani Group's PLR Systems, a joint venture, teaming up to boost local arms manufacturing.
Another 4,000 are expected later this year.
Israel Defense Forces deploy NEGEV LMGs
These NEGEV LMGs are deployed by the Israel Defense Forces and built to handle tough conditions.
They can fire both semi-automatic and fully automatic, and even be mounted on helicopters or ships.
It is equipped with Picatinny rails and tritium night sights and complies with NATO standards.
India Israel deal includes close-quarters carbines
This isn't just about machine guns: India and Israel are deepening their defense ties.
The deal also covers a massive order for close-quarters carbines, aiming to strengthen both India's security and its homegrown defense industry.
