India to give land in Varanasi for Bhutan temple

During his trip to Bhutan on November 11, PM Modi announced that India will give land in Varanasi for a special temple and guesthouse for the people of Bhutan.
This came as he also helped launch a major hydroelectric project and promised new support for Bhutan's development.

Bhutan-India ties

This move is about more than just land—it's a nod to the deep friendship and shared Buddhist roots between India and Bhutan.
The two countries are teaming up on clean energy, mental health, and easier cross-border travel.
Plus, trade between them has more than tripled since 2014, showing how much this partnership keeps growing.
