India tops economic opportunities in global report
India just landed the third spot in the Economic Opportunity category of the 2025 World Citizenship Index—beating out countries like Australia and the UK.
The report, from CS Global Partners, points to India's booming digital platforms and entrepreneurial spirit as big reasons for this leap.
Their CEO, Micha Rose Emmett, called it a sign of India's growing economic influence.
India's projected growth rates and living standards boost WCI
With projected growth rates of 6.6% for 2025 and 6.8% for 2026, India is holding strong as the world's fifth-largest economy.
The report credits this jump to investments in digital tech and infrastructure, plus a rising creator economy and expanding middle class that are boosting living standards across the country.
Overall, India climbed to 92nd place on the WCI—up from last year—showing real progress both socially and economically.
