A near miss for Shubhanshu Shukla's space flight
India's Shubhanshu Shukla and three other astronauts launched into space on June 25, 2025, aboard Axiom Mission 4 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
The Falcon 9 rocket took off right on time after engineers quickly fixed a wind data issue just before launch.
It's a big moment—this is the first government-sponsored crewed mission to the ISS in over 40 years for India, Poland, and Hungary.
Last-minute delay fixed just in time for liftoff
Seconds before liftoff, a delay with wind data uploads nearly stopped the mission. Engineers managed to sort it out with only a minute to spare, making sure everything was safe for takeoff.
The crew had also been through quarantine and health checks to get ready.
Dragon spacecraft to dock at ISS on June 26
The Dragon spacecraft is set to dock itself at the International Space Station around 7:00am EDT on June 26.
This mission brings together astronauts from four countries to do science experiments in space—a real team effort.
