India, UK ink criminal record exchange deal
India
India and the UK signed a new agreement on December 15, 2025 to swap criminal records, fingerprints, and key intelligence in real time.
The idea is to help both countries track serious criminals and sex offenders faster.
An official from India's Ministry of Home Affairs said the agreement was signed on December 15, 2025.
India's push for international cooperation on crime and security
This deal fits into India's broader plan to work closely with other countries on crime and security.
Last year, the CBI teamed up with the UK's National Crime Agency to fight corruption and organized crime.
More recently, the Union Cabinet approved a proposal to sign a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Nepal.
All these moves show India is serious about building strong international security networks.
