IndiGo crisis: Singapore High Commissioner attends wedding virtually

India

When IndiGo canceled over 1,000 flights in early December 2025 because of new crew rules, Singapore's High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, got stuck in New Delhi.
He missed a staff member's wedding in Deoghar, Jharkhand, but joined the celebration on a video call instead—still rocking traditional Indian attire and sharing photos online.

Making it work from afar

Wong didn't let flight chaos ruin the moment.
By showing up virtually and posting about it, he turned a travel fail into a sweet story of adapting and staying connected—even when plans go sideways.

What IndiGo is doing for stranded travelers

Thousands were affected by the mass cancelations. IndiGo apologized and stated they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The airline is giving automatic refunds, free changes for bookings from December 5-15, hotel stays for those stuck overnight, and even lounge access for seniors.

If you're flying soon...

IndiGo says: check your flight status online or with their AI assistant before heading out—don't just show up at the airport if your flight's canceled.
They're working to help everyone get moving again as quickly as possible.
