Investigation underway
Jail authorities launch internal inquiry
In light of the controversy, prison authorities have launched an internal inquiry to verify the authenticity of the footage. They aim to identify those responsible for the security breach. A spokesperson for the jail told PTI, "Further action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation." The incident has also prompted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to convene a high-level meeting to discuss potential actions against those involved.

Home minister demands detailed report
Home Minister G Parmeshwara has also demanded a detailed report on the matter, saying such violations cannot be tolerated. He said if the police report is unsatisfactory, a separate investigation will be conducted. "No one, whether a terrorist or anyone else, should have access to a phone," he added. This incident isn't the first time Parappana Agrahara Central Jail has faced scrutiny for security lapses and preferential treatment of inmates.
