Karnataka draft electoral rolls to remove 10.7 million names Aug24
Heads up, Karnataka! The draft electoral rolls are dropping on August 24 as part of a major cleanup.
Over 10.7 million names, 19.48% of voters, are set to be removed for reasons like being absent, shifted, duplicate, or deceased.
The final list will be out October 27.
Bengaluru claims open Aug24 to Sep23
Bengaluru's voter count is getting slashed from over 1.03 crore to just about 56.11 lakh to make things more accurate for the next election.
If you spot an error or want your name added or deleted, you've got from August 24 to September 23 to file a claim (just use Form 6, Form 6A, Form 7, or Form 8).
Notices will also go out to folks with mismatched information and those who couldn't link their details with the old rolls, so keep an eye out if that's you!
All claims get reviewed by October 22 before the final list is locked in.
