Karnataka man murders Facebook acquaintance over sexual dispute
A 28-year-old man, Puneeth Gowda, has been arrested for murdering Preethi Sundaresh (30), whom he met on Facebook just two days before the crime.
Preethi, who was married, left home without telling her family to meet Gowda near Hassan.
After an argument over their relationship—when Preethi wanted to continue things and Gowda refused—he allegedly hit her, causing fatal injuries.
He then buried her body on his farmland near Kattaraghatta forest.

Preethi's husband reported her missing on June 23. Police traced her phone and Facebook chats to find Gowda, who first claimed she'd left by bus.
Villagers later discovered a body matching Preethi's description nearby.
The case has sparked conversations about the risks of meeting strangers online, with more details expected as the investigation continues.
