Kerala: Migrant worker killed after being mistaken for thief

A 31-year-old migrant laborer, Ramnarayan Baghel from Chhattisgarh, died after being assaulted by a group of people in Palakkad district, Kerala.
He had come to Palakkad for construction work but was reportedly attacked after being mistaken for a Bangladeshi national or a theft suspect.
Police response and family impact
Police confirmed Baghel's identity through his Aadhaar card and have started an investigation.
His family back in Chhattisgarh—his wife Lalita and their two young sons—are in deep grief.
Once legal formalities are done, his body will be sent home for final rites.
