Kerala Police's new app tracks seasonal workers at Sabarimala

India

Kerala Police just rolled out a new app to keep tabs on seasonal workers at Sabarimala, aiming for smoother security at the busy pilgrimage sites of Sannidhanam, Pampa, and Nilackal.
The app lets police quickly check worker details—like name, Aadhaar, or phone number—and can handle data for over 7,000 workers, including about 2,000 from outside Kerala.

App to issue ID cards for verified workers

Since launching in April 2025, the app has already logged more than 5,200 workers and helps police verify everyone during high-security times using tools like Google Forms and WhatsApp groups.
Looking ahead, Kerala Police plan to give verified workers photo ID cards from the next pilgrimage season—making it even tougher for unauthorized folks to slip through and helping keep millions of visitors safer.
