Landslides in Arunachal claim 1 life, another missing
Heavy monsoon rains in Arunachal Pradesh have set off a series of landslides, leaving at least 14 people dead and several districts affected.
The latest tragedy struck Bichom district, where one person died in Sachung village and another was swept away by the Pachuk river.
One person is being treated for serious injuries.
Seven deaths in East Kameng
East Kameng has seen the most loss with seven deaths, while Lower Subansiri reported two. Other affected districts include Longding, Lohit, Anjaw, Kra Daadi, and Bichom.
According to officials, most fatalities were due to landslides—while others resulted from flooding or accidents caused by falling trees and collapsing walls during these intense rains.
Officials are monitoring the situation as the weather continues to challenge the region.
