Lt. Gen. Pushpendra Pal Singh takes charge of Western Command

Lt. Gen. Pushpendra Pal Singh has just taken over as the head of the Indian Army's Western Command, stepping in for Lt. Gen. Manoj Kumar Katiyar.
He started his journey at the Indian Military Academy and was commissioned into the elite Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) back in 1987.
Singh: vice chief, high altitude experience
With almost 40 years in service, Lt. Gen. Singh has led troops in tough, high-altitude areas along both northern and western borders, and played key roles in major operations.
He's also been vice chief of army staff and handled logistics at Army headquarters.
On top of that, he holds a master's degree from Panjab University and has trained in advanced defense management, showing he values both action and learning.
